With reference to your Despatch No. 12 of
the 12th. January, 1904, I have the honour to transmit for your information the enclosed copy of a report by the Registrar-
General on the working of Ordinance No. 19 of 1903 by which
the harbouring of Chinese Married Women without reasonable
excuse was made an offence punishable on conviction in a sun-
mary way.
2.
The report shows that this legislation
has proved successful.
